Pair of Hand-Carved Wooden Seagull Folk Art Sculptures, Signed 'KACH'

$350

Antiques & Decorative Arts · Late 20th Century, circa 1970s–1990s

A pair of hand-carved and painted wooden seagull sculptures by a New England carver known only by the incised signature 'KACH' on the base of at least one piece. The pair consists of a white swan-necked bird (likely a Trumpeter Swan or stylized gull) with a gracefully arched neck and black bill, and a larger black-and-white bird rendered with detailed scalloped feather painting suggesting an eider or gull species. Both pieces display confident folk carving with felt-padded bases, consistent with decorative or working decoy-style production sold from a Boston-area dock workshop. Acquired together as a set, which adds modest relational narrative value.
